First Day Hike

Join NLC Programs and Communications Coordinator, Paula Peters, on an easy hike through the Mashpee River Woodlands, a protected landscape shared between the town of Mashpee and the Trustees of Reservations known for gentle winding trails through a scenic pine/oak forest leading to spectacular views of the river. While we won’t see all of the 250 acre woodlands and more than 8 miles of trails, you will be introduced to this vast forest and wetlands including vernal pools that is habitat to an extensive population of wildlife including the winged, four legged, and the finned. It is a wonderful place on earth to return to again and again in any season.

Hikers will meet at the Mashpee Neck Road entrance to the Mashpee River Woodlands. Take Quinaquissett Road to Mashpee Neck Road. Follow Mashpee Neck Road south for 1.1 miles to the parking lot on the right.
