Wampanoag historian Linda Coombs

Aquinnah Wampanoag author and historian Linda Coombs will give a talk on her new book, “Colonization, and the Wampanoag Story”. The event will be held at the NLC office at 2B Center Street in Mashpee. Linda worked for nearly 50 years as a museum curator specializing in the history of Eastern Woodlands tribes, particularly the Wampanoag tribes. She has been outspoken in addressing stereotypes, misinformation, and the marginalization of Indigenous history and the myth of Thanksgiving. While the book is aimed at middle schoolers, Linda’s talk is for an adult audience interested in knowing the truth about her tribal history. Books will be available for sale and signing by the author.
